Sterilize: If you dropped our fork on the floor would you throw it out and buy a new one? Crowns are custom made, they don't come off the shelves in a store. The appropriate thing to do is to thoroughly clean and then sterilize the crown before recementing it.

Gravity: Things fall and then they're cleaned and reused. No different with dental crowns. A new crown would cost you quite a bit of money... your dentist would not have made you a new one at no charge simply because your current one was dropped. You'll be fine.

Sterility: What you describe occurs occasionally as accidents do happen. The trouble and cost of a new crown is totally unnecessary as there are proper methods to clean and sterilize the crown before placing it back in your mouth.

No Worries: The crown was sterilized before it was put in your mouth. That's the important part.
