A member asked:

I'm 8mths postpartum. i had night sweats for 2+mths then they stopped but returned the past few weeks. still bf no period. postpartum hormones?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neighbor next door: Yes, it is hormones. The pituitary gland is attached to a part of the brain called the hypothalamus whereby hormone feedback loops are centered. The "next door neighbor" to the brain hypothalamus is the thalamus which controls temperature regulation. So, when that "house is on fire" so will the house next door feels the heat.
