It's OK: One tablet is unlikely to cause issues, but please be aware of the expiry date of the medications and get rid of the expired one Thanks

No worries: New Xanax probably tastes bitter too. As medicines like Xanax get older they may lose some potency and thus not be quite as strong as it was but generally do not become toxic or dangerous. And it is probably still strong enough to be effective, but would be wise to get a new prescription if you plan to use more in the future.
