Amoxicillin allergy?: first line therapy for streptococcus pharyngitis is a penicillin, such as amoxicillin. Anything else and one is always left wondering if the alternative is effective. You'll have to find out when she finishes the fifth dose if it helped. some fever is normal after starting therapy or any infection, just look out for worsening symptoms. That is the key
