Infection likely: I understand that you were traveling to India recently from the US? If that is the case, it might be due to traveller's diarrhea. If symptoms persist for 2 weeks or more, having blood in the stool or feeling very unwell I think you might need to see your doctor to arrange some testing to identify the cause of the problem

Your travel: history ALONE would be enough for me to suggest a stool culture and a stool examination for OVA (eggs) and Parasites (Worms etc) Hope this helps Dr Z
