Pain in recovery: You very well may need to take pain medications, especially if they are going to operate. This is an ideal time to make sure your friends in the program and your sponsor are close at hand. They may even be able to dispense your pain medications to make sure the insanity of addiction does not raise its head. But there are very good non-narcotic options as well. Let the surgeon know your recovery.

Thanks for asking!: You should definitely consult an orthopedic surgeon. Meanwhile, you can consider taking some tylenol, (acetaminophen) ibuprofen, apply ice for 10 mins every few hours.
