UTI and sex: Urinary tract infections in women often are triggered by sex. It happens when bacteria that can cause UTI are present in increased number at the vaginal opening or labia; the bacteria are then massaged into the urethra by sex. Discuss with doctor; a dose of antibiotic after sex often can prevent UTI. Good luck!
