Side effects from: medications such as Effexor (venlafaxine), including constipation and gas, may occur early in treatment and after dose changes. They should subside as the body adjusts. If they continue and are intolerable then it is best to discuss them with your prescriber. Supportive measures can help. Best regards for relief.

Hydrate : Hydrate, eat plenty of fiber and add some colace to your diet for a while and you will adjust. Why the dose increase? Lowest possible effective dose advised because side effects increase with increased dosage. Maybe try 75 bid instead of 150 mg ER tab talk with your expert in psychiatry. Good luck and hang in there we're on your side.
