Kidney testing: BUN is elevated when one is not ill if the patient is fasting, is a bit dehydrated or has not eaten or drank much fluid before the test. It is rarely in and of itself a problem.

Dehydration: It increases with dehydration, just keeping your self well hydrated will help you normalize it, if you are so worried about it, ..
