Different viruses: MCV is not a common medical abbreviation; in this context, probably you mean molluscum contagiosum virus. MCV and HSV are entirely different viruses, and MC would never have a positive culture or PCR test for HSV2. If that test was positive, it's herpes for sure. (Adults can get MC of the genital area. If so, the person tested also has genital herpes.)
