Scalp bump: Scalp bumps may be lipomas (benign fatty tumors) and cysts ("sacks" under the skin containing trapped oil or keratin). These are not worrisome and doctors may just check them periodically. However, when bumps grow, doctors often recommend a biopsy to make sure that there is no cancer or other worrisome cause.
