ECG EKG: The electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) is a very commonly done heart test. Electrodes on the chest, arms & legs show the electrical activity of the heart. Preliminary interpretation of the test may be done by the computer, then read by a cardiologist. EKGs have to be considered in context of the history & other findings. Low voltage may result from heart disease, lung disease, overweight, etc.
