Swollen Lymph Nodes: If the swollen lymph nodes are due to a local bacterial infection and the bacterium is sensitive to the antibiotic, you should see noticeable results in 24-48 hours. The nodes should be less painful and start shrinking in size. If nothing happens at all in that time period, the antibiotic may not be the right agent and your doctor should review the Culture and Sensitivity report and pick another.
