Tianeptine is a: Tricyclic antidepressant with indirect glutamate receptor activity. Mirtazapine is an atypical antidepressant with noradrenergic and specific serotonergic activity. Using mirtazapine with tianeptine is usually not recommended, but may be required in some cases.
