Vitamin C: is necessary to help your body repair and manufacture tissues including healing wounds and assisting in the production of the essential protein collagen used to make skin, bones, ligaments, blood vessels, muscles ... and hair. I don't know about speed of growth: do your own experiment. Take 500-1000 mg/day for 3 months and try to measure difference in hair growth..measuring will be the challenge!
