Some vitamins: Help the hair. The B complex. Vit D. Iron, zinc to name a few. A good multivitamin should provide a good source to start with. Talk to your doctor about the different foods etc that would be hair healthy as well

Yes: Prenatal vitamins contain biotin which helps promote strong nails and hair growth. However, there are women who take prenatal vitamins but do not experience hair growth due to life's stressors, pregnancy, or abnormalities in their thyroid function.

No, haven't heard it: Haven't heard of any vitamins being able to make a person's hair grow faster, assuming the person is normal and healthy. That's because normal, healthy people are not deficient in any vitamins related to hair growth. It is fine to take a multi-vitamin a day, just in case one is not getting all the recommended vitamins in his diet, but hair will grow as fast as it wants to grow.

Also, be sure that there is not a reason for weight loss by getting a physical. Thyroid hormone deficiency and menopause cause a lot of hair loss. Premature balding and breast development and hair in children has been seen in Argentine in kids fed beef with hormones. So use organic meat. More fruits and veggies and grains, less protein and fat so you get the nutrients you need from food.
