Probably normal: Creatine kinase (CK), also known as creatine phosphokinase (CPK) is an enzyme made by muscle tissues, including the heart muscle. Doctors most often are concerned with high levels of CK, which may indicate muscle damage. "Normal range" varies by laboratory, but a level of 49 is probably within the normal range of most laboratories.
