For how long is a cold contagious? some say as long as you have cold symptoms others claim it's only contagious for max. 7 days. what is true?

Irrelevant: There is no crisp answer to such a question because the length of contagion varies from virus to virus and person to person. RELAX. We are exposed to many viruses as a part of normal activity. We all get a few every year. It is not the same as contagion from tuberculosis or hepatitis or syphilis.
