Slim chance: Most individiuals with Marfan's syndrome tend to be very tall and lean, but there are reports of obesity in Marfans's but it tends to be abdominal weight gain, not the overall muscular development. There is some suggestion in the literature that there may be some defect in muscle metabolism just like a defect int he connective tissue that gives loose joints and can weaken the walls of the aorta.

Ideally yes: Children with MFS have exaggerated linear growth, so will usually appear tall and lean. Other assoc. conditions esp. heart and respiratory conditions may cause failure to gain weight. Your 9 year old should be cared for in a medical home with regular assessment by her pediatrician who can coordinate her care across all specialties involved in her health maintainance.
