Soap: no issues using a soap unless you suffer from atopy or eczema. You can use medicated soaps or more gentle soaps like dove and glycerine based soaps . If there are concerns of eczema then aqueous cream can be used as a soap substitute.

Nonsense: washing and cleaning with gentle soap on a regular basis is part of good hygiene.
