I had a colonoscopy last week, which came back clear, however on my report it shows that 40 biopsies were taken from the rectum to the terminal ileum?

Depends: Why was the colonoscopy done? If it was as monitoring for inflammatory bowel disease, then the biopsies were appropriate. Give it a week or so and check with your doctor about the results of the biopsies. Wish you good health and a Happy New Year!
