Probably NOT: but you could have a bone bruise...If in doubt a re-xray will be useful in a few days when bone reaction around a non-displaced "micro_fracture will show up! A CT scan may also be useful! Hope this helps Dr Z

Yes it could: There is a fracture called a greenstick fracture which is hard to pick up. Sometimes early x-rays don't see a fracture. This is something you can discuss with your physician. Whileyou're having problems with it now I would use a wrist splint.

Be seen: Yes, you can have what is often referred to as an occult fracture, which is one that does not always show up on an X-ray. You might also have a ligamentous injury which would not always show up on routine X-ray. If you are still in severe pain, you need to be seen and accurately diagnosed. Often when seen in the Er, patients are given a followup appointment with specialist. Keep that appt.
