Should be OK: It should work just fine, but probably will taste bad. If you have trouble taking pills, talk with your doctor. Perhaps she would prescribe the pediatric suspension (liquid) instead of pills.

There is no evidence to show that crushing Valtrex (valacyclovir) makes the medication dangerous or less effective, but it is usually not recommended to crush pills if it is not completely necessary. If the pills are too large to swallow, it should be OK to cut the pills in half along a score line (if there is one) and take the two smaller halves at the same time.
