Lost clot 6 days after tooth extraction for a retained baby tooth in upper jaw. is this too soon?

Normal: Normal healing. Important to talk to your Dentist about orthodontically or restoratively replacing the baby tooth to avoid shifting of surrounding and opposing teeth, what Dentists callPosterior Bite Collapse.

OK: By the sixth day it is already beginning to heal. Just be patient.

Speak with DDS: If you have any concerns, speak to the dentist that extracted your tooth. More important, have a treatment plan to replace the tooth if needed.

Normal: What you describe seems perfectly normal. I assume the dentist who treated you will see you for a follow-up evaluation approximately 7-10 days after the surgical extraction. If not, call and request one.

Sounds fine.: Have your dentist do a follow-up check. You shouldn't worry, so long as things continue to improve (decreases in swelling & pain, extraction site remodeling to resemble "normal" tissue). Ask questions about any new symptoms such as increased swelling/bleeding/pain or bad taste.

It's ok: Should be fine. If you had bone grafting done then go have the dentist check it

Not too soon: removal of retained decidous teeth is not difficult surgery. the clot will avulse when ready. unless you rinsed with salt water right after. even then , the loss of the clot should not cause a problem

Lost clot: You should be fine. Baby teeth roots are not as long as permanent teeth roots so the clot if lost at the 6 day mark should not be a big deal. Continue to keep the area clean by rinsing with mouthwash or salt water.

No: After 6 days, where the tooth was extracted should be close to being healed and the clot has already done its job in healing the extraction site.
