Long term risk: Mental or emotional stress is rarely dangerous in the short term. But over time it causes a lot of "wear and tear" on the body: higher blood pressure, faster pulse, more stomach acid, more muscle tension, more stress hormones in the bloodstream. These normal reactions prime the body for "fight or flight" during emergencies, but are damaging to the body if invoked constantly.
