Not unusual: Hormonal IUD: Reduces heavy menstrual bleeding by an average of 90% after the first few months of use. Reduces menstrual bleeding and cramps and, in many women, eventually causes menstrual periods to stop altogether. If the bleeding or pain is severe you should see your gyn docs to have it checked. http://www.webmd.com/sex/birth-control/intrauterine-device-iud-for-birth-control

Not good: How long has the iud been in and what kind would be helpful information. Cramping after the period is not normal and might indicate partial dislodgement, infection of bladder or uterus, or bowel problems. If fever present or cramps continue, see your doctor!
