Tonsil disease: You should see a doctor for evaluation of the area. It is impossible for any patient to "see" a hole in the tonsil, or evaluate the tonsil adequately. Pain and swelling may indicate a simple tonsillitis, or it may be other things, such as an impaled foreign body, fish bone, or other debris.
