UTI: I don't know how you can tell if pain is originating in your ureters. If you have flank pain (back pain just below the ribcage), you could have kidney as well as bladder infection. E. coli is the most common cause of all UTI in women. Tell your doctor about all symptoms and follew her treatment advice. Most people recover completely and rapidly, with or without kidney involvement. Good luck!
