What do swollen lymph nodes feel like?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends on their: size. In general, they are bean shaped and feel firm but not hard. They may be tender to the touch. Lymph nodes that are cancerous tend to be fixed in one place, while "benign" nodes wiggle somewhat under the skin. Nodes that pop up over a short period of time are usually caused by nearby infection. Strep throat, for example can cause noticeable swell of nodes in the neck. Dr. anne
