Bleeding gingiva = inflammation. Over the long run, inflammation can result in periodontal disease and loss of teeth. It may be wise to see a periodontist (gum specialist) in your area for a second opinion.

No, bleeding gums are NOT normal. Most often the bleeding indicates inflammatory infective gum disease. Sometimes indicate a serious systemic disease such as diabetes or leukemia. Tooth sensitivity and swollen lymph nodes in addition to the bleeding indicates Periodontitis, gum disease. Gum disease requires treatment, does not self heal. See a dental specialist Periodontist, not a Physician
