Varies: Consider the germ a transient but repeat invader.In the young it invades deeper into the lung and has more potential for deep symptoms like wheezing and cough. It doesn't enter the blood, but triggers some immune resistance. Older kids get less invasion (some resistance) and have a chest cold,while adults many times just get a runny nose or "cold". People generally ger RSV every few years for life
