Valve surgery: Some left heart valve problems can cause damage to the lung circulation and right side of the heart (such as pulmonary hypertension.) Mild mitral valve disease would be very unlikely to cause this. Consultation with a cardiologist or pulmonologist experienced at treating pulmonary hypertension should define your options.
