A member asked:

After many yrs it feels like nexium is not as effective for gerd for me. should i switchover to another ppi? would that help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Another PPI: Sometimes switching PPI may help alleviate GERD symptoms, but if you've been using Nexium consistently for years and still having GERD symptoms you should also consider an upper endoscopy to evaluate further. If you have any symptoms of black stools, blood in stool, weight loss then you should speak to your doctor soon. Best of luck!
