Viral cough: This sounds like a typical viral cough. Symptoms can persist for up to 6-8 weeks. If you develop fevers, shortness of breath or chest pain accompanied by the cough then you need to visit your Doctor. At this stage it is highly unlikely that you need antibiotics.
