A member asked:

At 2 mos. after exposure, assuming everything is done properly, how many % is the accuracy rate of results yielded from hiv anti-body test kit vs pcr?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Does not matter: Even one missed result with either test is too many if it is your test. Get a HIV nucleic acid test/PCR now, if the result is negative, repeat the test in 6 months to be sure. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
