Give it time: Some steroids used for spine injections can take up to 10-14 days to show effect. Give it a little time and touch base with the doc again.

Stenosis: It sounds like you've had significant spine and leg pain since a tkr in oct 12? And i'm guessing you've had a lumbar mri. If the MRI showed significant stenosis (pinched nerves) which corresponds to your pain symptoms, then your options are to try medications (i.e. Lyrica), or another epidural or two, or decompressive lumbar surgery.

Epidurals: Actually, at the north american spine meeting this last winter, significant evidence was presented that epidurals for stenosis may actually be counterproductive. If you have compression of a nerve and persistent pain, you should be evaluated by a surgeon.
