See a doctor: There is a pouch behind your tongue and above the epiglottis where food/tablets/objects can get stuck. If symptoms of gagging, burning and swelling occur in the throat after taking a tablet then you should seek urgent medical attention at your local emergency room/doctors room.

This feels terrible,: doesn't it? Obviously you were trying to deal with a large pill, but it still didn't go down smoothly. Drinking with LOTS of water helps. The pill could have traumatized your pharynx/esophagus, perhaps scratching/even ulcerating an area. The sensation can last for days but should slowly improve. As long as you can swallow and no blood, OK to watch. If worsens/persists, need to see Doc. Good luck!
