Short term pain: Obviously you need the surgery to improve your quality of life, and help. Be prepared for several day of moderate to severe pain that may be treated with pain medications. After 2-3 weeks you may still notice mild pains but should completely resolve over 2-3 months. In the end, the goal is to be better off after surgery than you are now. Hang in there!!
