Unfortunately the: general public thinks that all devices (especially digital ones) are infallible and absolute. This is definitely not correct. It is most likely that the pulse oximeter was inaccurate. Many things can affect the reading and are not clinically relevant. If your health care professionals were unconcerned by the variance then you should be too.
