Incomplete ?: You have not asked a clear question and the info is minimal.No kid is put on 5mg of this med, it is likely 5 ml and the med can be given once a day or split into 2 eaual doses ~12 hr apart if the kid has GI irritation.If the 250/5 strength, it is likely to work, but is a little slower than some meds in getting symptoms under control.Any cough he develops is likely due to drainage after treatment.
