A member asked:

How long is the usual hospital stay after recocele surgery? dr said it won't be outpatient cause be has to pack me

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The extent of the rectocele and the viability of the tissues determine a great deal of the healing time. Most of the time, they are going to want to keep you in the hospital long enough to know that bleeding is controlled, no infection occurs, packing can be advanced without complication, and you know how to take care of the wound at home, Some packing may be removed as an out patient later
