Why does dry air cause my nose to burn and get stuffy? can this cause sinus infections?

Possible allergies: I suggest getting checked for allergic rhinitis and seasonal allergies. OTC antihistamines and nasal saline rinses should help relieve your symptoms.

See below: Justin: Sinus or sinusitis is an overused term, without a uniform connotation. Dry air can dry out the mucus membrane of the nose and cause a sensation of burning, especially if you do not make enough mucus. Dry air by itself does not cause sinusitis. Bacterial infection in the sinuses may require antibiotic treatment. Seeing your doctor would be prudent to settle the issue.
