Base of my thumb hurts when straightened. it happened almost 2 months ago in volleyball. it will occasionally hurt really bad if bent back suddenly. ?

Trapezium: You have damaged the carpometacarpal joint at the base where the thumb connects to the trapezium. Best treatment is to prevent excess movement. There is an outside chance you have a fracture of the trapezium bone, but it would make sense to try to immobilize with a wrist and hand brace which you can get at an athletic supply store.
