In reference to my other question is there anything that would make an echo appear to have a wall motion abnormality when there isn't one ?

No test is perfect: Hi, this is something that occurs commonly. An ECHO uses sound waves to visualize the motion of the heart. There are many factors that can limit the usefulness of an ECHO, including technique, (transthoracic vs. esophageal probe), patient size, muscle or fat composition, large breasts, and even obesity can all interfere with capturing images of the heart. Sometimes future ECHOs will be normal.
