Pain in shins: This pain may be the result of over-training during the season, or improper footwear. You may also be experiencing "shin-splints," and at worse, bone fracture. Since this pain has persisted though, I would recommend follow up with an Orthopedist for further evaluation.

Stress reaction: There is a spectrum of stress reactions that can occur in the tibia in response to prolonged running all the way up to and including a stress fracture. I would rest it as much as possible and if does not get better quickly I would probably be seen.
