Why: It is not clear why one would try to frighten a 7 month old baby but if it happens, the impact will be determined by what type of comfort and support follows the event. The baby will interpret the event in the light of the emotional behavior of the important people in his life rather than in light of the intent of the abuser. Provide loving comfort and protection from future abusive exposure.
