This is relatively: RARE and mostly is seen after trauma of some sort! If it is ASYMPTOMATIC (no symptoms..) then it should be left alone! I disagree that NO FOLLOW up is necessary ECHO studies of the carotid arteries are simple and inexpensive and I would suggest bi-annual evaluation (If symptoms are present I would consult the Neurosugeon again Hope this helps Dr Z
