Infection, blockage: Gallbladders do not usually enlarge unless they are infected or blocked. This needs to be evaluated by a surgeon to see if removal is needed.

Um...: 3-4 times the normal size is, by definition, not normal. But this doesn't mean it's bad. Are you having gallbladder symptoms. If not, it could just be that you hadn't eaten for a while and your GB was full of bile if you are having issues it could be that your GB outlet is blocked by a stone, or scar tissue and therefore distended. A surgeon could help you differentiate
