Not likely: There is no evidence that having a bowel movement would affect a cerclage. You may want to consider a daily stool softener to help your constipation.

Straining should not: The risk that the sutures and surgical knots used to place your cervical cerclage will loosen because of your constipation and straining are quite small and so remote as to be negligible . If you have no bleeding and no pelvic-abdominal pain, there is no real cause for alarm. Asking a member of your obstetrical team to perform a vaginal-cervical exam may help to reassure you further.
