Negative: If a patient's lab test result is &lt;0.91, and the lab says the reference range for NEGATIVE is &lt;0.91, then the test result is NEGATIVE. Of course, numbers are just numbers, so the doctor needs to see the numbers in the context of the whole patient in order to make sensible and accurate conclusions from the numbers.
